St. Benjamin

The cruel methods used against him included inserting reeds under his nails and a knotty stake into his bowels, resulting in his martyrdom around 424. Although the exact date of his canonization is unknown, St. Benjamin is celebrated as a martyr and a patron saint of preachers.
