St. Thomas, also known as "Doubting Thomas," is one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. His name, derived from the Aramaic word Toma, means "twin," though the identity of his twin remains a mystery. While his exact birth year and early life are unknown, Thomas is believed to have been a Galilean fisherman before being called by Jesus to follow Him. Thomas is most famously remembered for his initial skepticism about Jesus" resurrection, as recounted in the Gospel of John (20:24-29). When the other apostles told him they had seen the risen Christ, Thomas famously declared, "Unless I see the nail marks in His hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe." A week later, Jesus appeared to Thomas, inviting him to touch His wounds, leading Thomas to exclaim, "My Lord and my God!" This moment is a profound testament to the journey from doubt to faith.
